The Beacon homeless day resource center is a public – private partnership working to provide community solutions to help men, women, and children who are experiencing homelessness in Dane County, Wisconsin. In 2016 Dane County purchased the building that previously housed the Madison Chamber of Commerce with plans to renovate it and turn it into a day resource center for the homeless. Dane County chose Catholic Charities to operate this multi-service day resource center and partnered with the City of Madison and the United Way of Dane County. Together, with support from local community agencies, we form a unique collaboration between the business, faith, government, nonprofit, and neighborhood sectors

Housing Navigation Services (HNS) is a program of Catholic Charities Dane County made with the aim of providing compassionate, caring, and culturally conscious services to individuals and families experiencing housing insecurity and homelessness. Our mission is to help the poor and vulnerable in our community utilize the resources and programs made for them and to make this often stressful navigation as easy to understand and as personalized as possible. We want to address your personal needs, preferences, and barriers to achieving housing. Our staff uses an individualized approach with each person or family, determining the level of assistance or case management needed while establishing a personalized housing plan. Additionally, resources such as employment and training, benefits, and overall health services are factored into housing plans.
