We offer safe shelter for people who are experiencing homelessness 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Beacon is a daytime shelter and resource center operated by Catholic Charities to help men, women, and children who are experiencing homelessness in Dane County, Wisconsin. Our goal is to support and empower those in need, offering a safe space and access to essential resources . The Beacon is committed to fostering a sense of community and working together to make a positive impact on the lives of those we serve.

How We Help
We serve over 240 individuals a day, 7 days a week.
Basic Needs & Wellness
The Beacon provides a safe shelter for people who are homeless 7 days a week from 8-5. The facility offers the following free services:
- Daily lunch
- Private showers & restrooms
- Laundry (drop off – same day service)
- Mail Center, phones, copier & fax
- Day storage
- Preventative healthcare
- Private family areas
- Referrals for mental health counseling
- Referrals to case managers
- Transportation between night shelters
Housing & Job Assistance
We offer Housing & Navigation services at The Beacon
- Mail Center

- Identification Assistance
- Computer Lab & Classes
Through the services offered at The Beacon by staff and partner agencies, individuals have an opportunity for a better life. We are committed to offering services in an environment where people feel supported and are treated with dignity and respect.

Beginning in January 2024, Housing Navigation Services will transition from Catholic Charities to a new agency provider, Urban Triage. Urban Triage will begin providing housing
