The Beacon provides a safe shelter for people who are experiencing homelessness 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Beacon homeless day resource center is operated by Catholic Charities Diocese of Madison to help men, women, and children who are experiencing homelessness in Dane County, Wisconsin.

The Beacon and its partners work together to lift up those experiencing homelessness in our community.
Our Support
We help over 200 individuals a day, 7 days a week.
Basic Needs & Wellness
The Beacon provides a safe shelter for people who are homeless 7 days a week from 8-5. The facility offers the following free services:
- Daily lunch
- Private showers & restrooms
- Laundry (drop off – same day service)
- Mail Center, phones, copier & fax
- Day storage
- Preventative healthcare
- Private family areas
- Referrals for mental health counseling
- Referrals to case managers
- Transportation between night shelters
Housing & Job Assistance
We offer Housing & Navigation services at The Beacon
- Mail Center
- Access to Phones
- Identification Assistance
- Computer Lab & Classes
Through the services offered at The Beacon by staff and partner agencies, individuals have an opportunity for a better life. We are committed to offering services in an environment where people feel supported and are treated with dignity and respect.
