Bobby Throws Out the First Pitch

September 2026 | Faithfully Forward Newsletter

Meet Bobby.

Bobby has been a season ticket holder with the Beloit Sky Carp, formerly the Beloit Snappers, for more than six years. His seat sits directly behind home plate, and it has his name on it. For years, he worked the concession stands at the ballpark, serving fans throughout the stadium, and along the way, a lot of people got to know him. During baseball season, you can count on finding Bobby at the park.

This July, all of that history led to something new. Bobby was selected to throw out the first pitch at a Sky Carp game, an honor tied directly to his loyalty as a fan: he has already attended more than 20 games this season. His mother captured the moment on camera and shared it with us, along with her permission to share his story here.

Bobby has been part of Community Connections since the program moved to its current location in Janesville, where he attends three days a week. He has built strong relationships with staff and fellow participants, and he is known around the building for his humor, his generosity, and his readiness to help wherever he is needed.

We are grateful to the Beloit Sky Carp, who partner with Community Connections every year to get our participants out to games, and who welcomed Bobby onto the field for a night he will not forget.
