Mobile Food Pantries
Addressing Hunger
A Parish Social Ministries Program
Providing Access
Catholic Charities partners with Second Harvest and local parishes to provide individuals and families in rural areas access to nutritional food.
Mobile Food Pantries
Since 2005, the Catholic Charities Mobile Food Pantry program has helped residents in rural areas stretch their grocery budgets a bit more by providing produce, meat, and other necessities each month at parishes throughout the Diocese of Madison. There is no cost for participants, and all are welcome regardless of income level.
Catholic Charities serves as the community sponsor for 10 of Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin’s mobile pantry locations, providing pantry sites and volunteers at local parishes.
In 2025, the mobile food pantries we support served 12,251 individuals with assistance from 294 volunteers, who provided 9,358 hours of their time and distributed more than 700,000 lbs. of food!
Mobile Pantry Locations and Dates
The mobile food pantry program is intended to serve rural areas which do not have access to larger food pantry options that are typically available in more metropolitan areas. It’s a collaborative effort between Catholic Charities, Catholic parishes and the Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin.
