Free Caregiver Training Series
If you are, or anticipate, caring for your spouse, a parent or other older adult, this is an opportunity to learn essential nursing skills that will ensure their safety and well-being—and yours.
This comprehensive 16-hour series provides hands-on training that includes falls prevention, lifting, positioning, skin care, medication safety, toileting, dressing, bathing and shower safety, dealing with incontinence, and effective communication with the health care team.
Jean Mueller, a registered nurse with Catholic Charities and a member of the Dane County Caregiver Alliance, teaches the workshops and has more than 30 years of caregiving experience both professionally and personally. She understands the unique challenges of providing care for family members and can offer practical solutions to many of issues caregivers face.
Participants in each four-hour workshop receive a free gait belt, bed pad, refreshments and will be entered into a drawing for gift certificates.
